- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 egg whites
- 1 package (3 oz) Jello (any flavor)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook over medium heat until the mixture reaches a soft ball stage (about 240°F).
- While the sugar mixture is cooking, beat the egg whites in a large bowl until stiff peaks form.
- Once the sugar mixture is ready, slowly pour it into the beaten egg whites while continuing to beat the mixture.
- Add the Jello and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined and fluffy.
- If desired, fold in the chopped nuts.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto wax paper and let them cool until set.
Notes
- Make sure to beat the egg whites until they are very stiff for the best texture.
- You can experiment with different Jello flavors for a variety of colors and tastes.
