Description

A deliciously spicy and cheesy bread that combines the heat of jalapeños with the richness of cheddar cheese, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and diced jalapeños to the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the milk and melted butter.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra heat, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
  • This bread can be served warm or at room temperature.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
