- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Add the shredded cheddar cheese and diced jalapeños to the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra heat, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
- This bread can be served warm or at room temperature.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
