Description

Delicious homemade cheesy garlic breadsticks that are perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add olive oil, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. Transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet.
  8. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, oregano, and parsley. Brush this mixture over the dough.
  9. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and cut into sticks.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
  • Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
