Description

Delightfully spooky Ghost Meringue Cookies that are perfect for Halloween or any festive occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • Chocolate chips (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add the sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy.
  4. Mix in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  5. Transfer the meringue to a piping bag fitted with a round tip.
  6. Pipe ghost shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Place chocolate chips on each ghost for eyes.
  8. Bake for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the meringues are dry and can be easily lifted off the parchment.
  9. Turn off the oven and let the meringues cool completely inside.
