Description

This easy banana bread recipe guarantees a moist and soft delight, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until mostly smooth with a few lumps left.
  3. Stir in melted butter, then add brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture, gently stirring them in.
  5. Add all-purpose flour, folding in carefully until just combined.
  6. If using, fold in chocolate chips or nuts evenly in the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For the best results, use very ripe bananas. The bread can be made ahead and tastes even better the next day.
