Description

A delicious and creamy potato gratin featuring crispy layers of Parmesan and Gruyere cheese, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds of potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of grated Gruyere cheese
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of butter, for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix the heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Sprinkle half of the Gruyere and Parmesan cheese over the cream.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme or rosemary.
  • Make sure to slice the potatoes evenly for uniform cooking.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
