Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (for dusting)
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  2. Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and powdered sugar until well combined.
  4. Refrigerate the mixture for about 2 hours, or until firm.
  5. Once firm, use a melon baller or your hands to scoop out small portions and roll them into balls.
  6. Roll the truffles in cocoa powder or crushed peppermint candies to coat.
