A delicious and hearty French onion pot roast made in a crock pot, perfect for flavorful meals.
Ingredients

- 3–4 lbs beef chuck roast
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet French onion soup mix
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, sear the roast on all sides until browned.
- Place the sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Transfer the seared roast to the crock pot on top of the onions.
- In a bowl, mix the beef broth, French onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce, then pour over the roast.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Once cooked, shred the meat and serve with the onions and broth.
- Garnish with fresh thyme if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add sliced mushrooms to the crock pot.
- Serve with crusty bread for dipping in the broth.
- This dish can be made a day ahead and reheated for convenience.
